ELIZABETH WEST 21-22

Elizabeth West is thrilled to be part of a dynamic education that recognizes students for who they are, encourages them to unfold naturally as themselves, and honors them in the process.

EDUCATION:

  • Masters of Education, Waldorf Education Antioch University New England, Keene, NH
  • Bachelor of Science, Elementary Education Charleston Southern University, Charleston, SC
  • Waldorf Class Teacher Certificate, Grades 1-8 Association of Waldorf School of North America
  • Elementary Education Licensure Grades 2-6 South Carolina Department of Education

Elizabeth has had the opportunity to teach (and learn with) students of various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, and dispositions. This has emphasized for her the importance of building a trusting relationship with each child. After an extensive training in elementary education and Waldorf methods, including interning with an experienced BVWS Waldorf teacher at the Denver Waldorf School with an elementary class, Elizabeth is excited to lead the Second Grade at BVWS. She has worked this year with our kindergarten group, both assisting and leading the students. She is fascinated with the whole K-8th grade learning process and wants to support children through the phases of development using the principles of Waldorf education. Elizabeth is delighted to be part in this intentional approach to education, and foster an environment where individuals can come to know and love their world.
